Volunteers are needed to help organize the Annual Awards and Dinner to be held this fall in Ames.  A volunteer is also needed to help organize the silent auction to be held at the annual meeting.  Contact iowa.chapter@sierraclub.org for more information or to sign up as a volunteer.

 

 

Garlic Mustard Workday Scheduled

Our annual workday in Ashworth/Greenwood Parks is scheduled for April 26, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Meet at 9:00 at the trailhead parking lot for the Bill Riley Bike Trail, south of Grand Avenue on 45th Street in Des Moines. Dress appropriately (long pants, long sleeves, sturdy shoes, gloves). Come for an hour or all morning. Difficulty level moderate; no previous experience needed. Volunteers will show you the easily identified plant, and where to work.  As in past years, small groups will continue to work at various times throughout May, in Ashworth and Greenwood Parks but also in some other locations in the Metro area and Polk County.
