SIERRA CLUB ANNUAL MEETING AT LITTLE SWAN LAKE WINERY

  

The Prairie Lakes Group of the Iowa Sierra Club invites one and all to join us for our first annual meeting on Saturday, November 10th, from 3:00-6:00 p.m..  The meeting will be held at the Little Swan Lake Winery, located just north of Superior, Iowa, and promises to be entertaining and informative. 

Come tour the winery and sample their wines, as well as taste local meats and cheeses. View "The True Cost of Food", a short movie that illustrates the hidden costs of typical supermarket foods compared to those grown locally and sustainably. Enter to win Sierra Club prizes.  Meet with others to discuss the Sierra Club's state, local, and federal strategies, and how you can get involved in CAFO siting and global climate issues. 

If you are a Sierra Club member, you can also participate in electing or being elected to the Prairie Lakes Group Executive Committee and help shape our future activities.  We are quite proud that our current Executive Committee Chair, Donna Buell of Spirit Lake, was recently elected to the National Executive Committee of the Council of Club Leaders and as such will be participating in recommendations to the Sierra Club's National Board of Directors.  Kudos to Donna.

So don't forget the date, November 10.  Sierra Club membership is not required.
