April 26-Earth Day Hike
In honor of Earth Day, we are taking a Saturday hike around Lake McBride, led by new ICAG member, Gil Amaro. We will meet at Fin & Feather parking lot at 9:30 and carpool.

May 11-Rochester Cemetery Hike
We are again lucky this year to have University of Iowa botanist, Diana Horton, to lead an outing to Rochester Cemetery, a beautiful example of virgin savannah prairie with over 300 species of wildflowers and majestic oaks. We might be able to pull out the invasive garlic mustard, as we did last year. It doesn’t take long to make a big difference!  We will meet in the Fin and Feather parking lot on Highway 1 and Riverside at 9:30. For more information
and to carpool, contact Marybeth Slonneger at 354-8700.

Sunday, May 18-Red Bird farm
We will hike in to see the trilliums and Virginia blue bells which literally cover the woods. Meet at 11 am in the Fin and Feather parking lot to car pool. A call to Therese Guedon at 339-4455, to let her know you are coming, would be appreciated.

May 31-Astronomy OutingI
If the sky is clear, let’s take a look at some of the wonders shining down through the black of night. We will tour the cosmos with the naked-eye and a small telescope. Please bring some water and a snack as well as some clothing layers to keep out the nighttime chill. To sign up or for more information, please contact Jim Baker at 319-688-9853 or bakerjim

June 14-Canoe the Maquoketa River
You can go for 1/2 day or for the full day. We will put in near Monticello at 9:00 and take out at noon at Pictured Rocks Park or 4:30 at Highway 136. Bring a lunch and raingear and be prepared to get your feet wet. Canoe rental is available at Appleby Canoe Service at 319-465-3697. You must reserve a canoe a week in advance; they will refund your money if it rains. If you plan to go and to make carpool arrangements, call Barbara Beaumont, 626-6227.

Our outings are open to Sierra Club members and non-members. Please contact the leader of the outing before you go to find out the schedule and/or meeting place. For further information and any questions about our outings, please contact our ICAG Outings Co-Chairs: Therese Guedon at 319-339-4455 or thereseguedon @yahoo.com (weekdays only);
