2013 Strategic Planning Retreat

Members of the Iowa Chapter Executive Committee met in Okoboji in June 2013 to do strategic planning.  But, it wasn't all work and no play.  Below are some of the photographs taken during the weekend.

Thank you to Donna Buell, Iowa Chapter Treasurer and national Board of Directors member, for hosting the retreat!

Norbert, Donna's iguana, provided entertainment for those attending the retreat.  After a long day of thinking and discussing, the group took a break on Saturday and walked Manhattan Beach.

Friday was extremely windy, but the group was able to get out on the lake after it finished its work on Saturday.  The boat tour included West Lake Okoboji, East Lake Okoboji, Upper Gar Lake and Minnewashta Lake.

After a boat tour of Iowa's Great Lakes, the group went to dinner at Maxwell's Beach Cafe in Arnolds Park.

Executive Committee members include (l to r) Jerry Neff, Davenport; Debbie Neustadt, chair, Des Moines; Pam Mackey-Taylor, vice chair, Marion; Donna Buell, Treasurer and member of the national Board of Directors, Okoboji; and Neila Seaman, Chapter director, Des Moines.

Executive Committee members Carolyn Uhlenhake-Walker, Des Moines, (l) and Ginger Soelberg, Johnston, enjoy lively conversation with local Sierra Club member Jan Grant during dinner at Maxwell's Beach Cafe.

The Executive Committee wrapped up its meetings on Sunday and headed home.
