2006 Earth Day

On Saturday, April 22, Sierra Club, members of the Latino Youth Group from Hoover High School in Des Moines and their facilitators from Employee & Family Resources distributed Cool Home and Latino outreach materials at the Drake Relays Parade.  Below are photographs taken prior to the mile-long parade.

ARCTIC FEATURE OF EARTH DAY EVENT ON MAY 3

Iowa Chapter volunteers provided information on the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge at the Forest Avenue Library in Des Moines on May 3 to young students participating in after-school programs.  Phyllis Mains, dressed in a polar bear costume, and Jane Clark share their information with the youngsters.

The polar bear got lots of hugs!

The children were given pictures of Arctic wildlife and allowed to color the pictures while they were still at the booth.
